Ministries for your Kids
In 2006, Pastor Shawn was walking and praying when he heard the calling of God to start a church that would “see people far from God rescued with real life in Christ.” After months of prayer and home meetings with like-minded leaders, Journey Church held the first Sunday service at the community center in Liberty, MO.
As the young, mobile church grew, the locations for Sunday services changed several times to accommodate the expansion, reach, and implementation of the vision of Journey. Shoal Creek Elementary School was to be the final location for Journey Church in its mobile form. In March of 2012, Journey Church moved into it’s current location at 1021 S. Brown Street in Liberty, MO. The move was an ambitious, bold step but God provided and the people of Journey Church stepped up by supplying both labor and financial support to remodel 10,000 square feet of warehouse space into a fully functional church facility.
God has been at work in Journey Church from the very beginning. Stories of salvation, miraculous healing, restored marriages, and people being set free are woven into the history of Journey. Journey has been invested in the spreading of the Gospel and relief efforts both here at home and around the world by partnering with men and women who serve full time with their feet on the ground in foreign lands, changing lives with God’s good news.
Journey is growing primarily by word of mouth. We don’t spend money on billboards along the highway or commercials on the radio. God is touching lives here and people are spreading the word. It’s an exciting place to be and the best is yet to come!

The Bible: We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
God: We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This is known as the Trinity.
Jesus: We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His complete conquest over the power of Satan, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His sure return.
Holy Spirit: We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling Christians are enabled to live Godly lives full of power.
The Church: We believe the church consists of all those who truly believe in Jesus Christ and His atoning death, and who trust in Him as their Lord and Savior. We believe that local church is the vehicle of God working in the earth to establish His Kingdom.
Salvation: We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of the lost, and that this salvation is wholly by grace through faith.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit: We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 are available and in operation in the Body of Christ today.
Baptism and Holy Communion: We believe in the ordinance of Baptism in water [by immersion] in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, on the authority of Jesus’ name. We also believe in the ordinance of Holy Communion.
Heaven and Hell: We believe in the resurrection of both the lost and the saved. The lost unto eternal damnation and separation from God; the saved unto eternal life in the presence of God.
Unity of Believers: We believe in the spiritual unity of all who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.
